Train as a Witness

On January 27, 2026, Russian forces struck the Chop-Kharkiv-Barvinkove passenger train with three Shahed-type kamikaze drones near Barvinkove station in the Kharkiv region. This was a deliberate attack on a civilian passenger train carrying hundreds of passengers. Six people were killed, and two more were injured.
In February 2026, the destroyed car, damaged not only by the explosion but also by fire, was transported to Kyiv. Ukrzaliznytsia and its partners created the light installation “Pulsating Pain”, and the train car began to be used for diplomatic visits by foreign representatives.
In particular, the train car was shown to representatives and leaders of European countries during events marking the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
