A thousand people trapped
The city of Kurakhove was an important logistics point. Many routes of the “southern” Donbas ran through it.
Today, the central part of Kurakhove is severely damaged, and social facilities are destroyed. You won’t hear the “air raid alarm” here — it’s 24/7 now. The shelling of the city itself seldom stops, and the enemy uses both artillery and powerful aerial bombs. According to the police chief, from three to ten guided aerial bombs fly into the city every day.
On November 6, the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, Vadim Filashkin, said on the telethon air that evacuation in Kurakhove is virtually impossible. The enemy is hunting for everything that moves using FPV drones. A separate big problem in the city is the lack of communication. In the event of an “arrival”, injury, or the need for urgent evacuation, it is almost impossible to inform the relevant services.
As of November 20, 800 people left in the city, and about 2,800 in the larger Kurakhove community.
