Destroyed villages of Dibrivne and Kurulka images from the air
At the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the village of Dibrivne found itself under occupation. On September 5, 2022, Operational Command East officially announced that soldiers of the 93rd Mechanized Brigade Kholodnyi Yar liberated the village of Dibrivne, moving the front line. While fleeing, the Russians generously mined the village and abandoned plenty of equipment.
For six months, the enemy tried to take control of the village of Kurulka, popularly called Little Ukrainian Switzerland because of its unusual landscape. The Ukrainian armed forces twice repelled the Russian offensive. The occupiers did not stop and continued shelling until the liberation of Dibrivne. The Barvinok children’s camp, the school, and a good half of the village were destroyed.
