Borshchova from the air: damage and destruction
Borshchova (403: 2001) is a small village, 15 kms north of Kharkiv. It was attacked during the very first hours of the Russian invasion last year.

Villagers say that Borshchova. was shelled from every direction. This left several undetonated shells in each vegetable plot.
Russian forces would not let people leave Borshchova. Not to go to Kharkiv, that is. They were promised flats and good wages in Russia — anything to persuade villagers to abandon their homes.
Borshchova was liberated on 11 September 2022 during Ukraine’s autumn counter-offensive.
The invaders wrecked the entire electricity network in the village, says the Kharkiv Region Energy Authority. Just a month ago, electricity supplies were restored: work began in June this year, as soon as sappers had cleared all the mines left by the Russians.
