Volunteers of Ukraine
If necessary, Ukrainian civil society is quick to respond.

The volunteer movement in Ukraine is a unique phenomenon without which the country would hardly have survived. In the past, civil society successfully resisted an internal dictatorship, and now volunteer organizations are purchasing ammunition and combat vehicles, funding the development of drones, and even leasing satellites.
In any part of Ukraine and beyond, you can meet these people who deliver water to bombed hospitals, evacuate animals from the front line, repair cars for the military, collect money for ammunition, and also volunteer to fight themselves.
Our photo selection of Ukrainian volunteers was done through Jerome Barbosa’s lens.
