While world leaders are making loud statements about the alleged approaching peace and steps towards ending the war, Ukrainian cities are increasingly subjected to devastating attacks.

In 2025, Russian drones and missiles attacked various civilian targets more than 120 times, including educational institutions, residential buildings, and hospitals. In less than a year, 146 civilians died in Kyiv, and about 700 were injured.

These figures were established according to open data and reports provided by the city authorities after the attacks. Thus, the incomplete year 2025 is already a record year in terms of the number of dead and wounded civilians in the capital. In 2025, there are 3 times as many people as in the entire year 2024.

Before this, the worst indicator was in 2022, when fighting took place on the outskirts of the city in the spring — then about 120 people died in 12 months (according to some sources, 116 or 121). In any case, 2025 has already surpassed this figure.
